AppData and Hidden Folders"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<p>Many poker clients save hand histories to the <strong>Windows AppData folder<\/strong> (e.g. <code>C:\\Users\\<strong>Username<\/strong>\\AppData\\Local<\/code> or <code>AppData\\Roaming<\/code>) for a few practical reasons:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>User-specific storage<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>AppData is tied to each Windows account, so hand histories are stored per user, preventing conflicts on shared computers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hidden\/system folder<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>AppData isn\u2019t something casual users normally dig through, so files are less likely to be accidentally deleted or modified.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Consistency for developers<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>By default, Windows guidelines recommend storing application data (settings, logs, histories) in <strong>AppData<\/strong> rather than <strong>Documents<\/strong> or <strong>Program Files<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>This avoids permission issues, since <strong><code>Program Files<\/code><\/strong> often requires admin rights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Automatic separation of settings\/data<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Clients can use <strong>AppData\\Roaming<\/strong> for data that follows a user across networked logins (e.g. in corporate environments) and <strong>AppData\\Local<\/strong> for device-specific files like cached hand histories.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cleaner
